Speech Language Pathology

The ability to communicate effectively is essential in maintaining a good quality of life. Speech-Language Pathologists are trained professionals who specialize in the assessment, management, education and prevention of a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.

Speech-Language Pathologists work closely with children and adults with various levels of speech, language and communication problems including individuals with traumatic brain injury. They also specialize in assessing and managing individuals with swallowing, drinking or eating difficulties.

Speech-Language Pathologists use a wide range of assessment and diagnostic tools to assess the individual needs of each patient. Following a proper assessment, the clinician can then develop and carry out an individualized treatment program.
